Cala Murada

Just 6 kilometres from Cales de Mallorca we find Cala Murada, a charming little unspoilt cove, offering fine white sand 35 metres wide and 350m in length. This beach is remarkable for its shape, with the stream-bed of Es Fangar holding water all year long at its back, thereby giving one the sense of two different water’s edges, one salt-water and the other from the island’s rain.

This is a popular beach in the summertime and boasts a wide range of services such as showers, lavatories, parking areas, restaurants, a dock, lifeguards and a hand-rail for those with impaired mobility. Also, if you’re a keen fishing enthusiast, its waters allow for a wonderful day’s angling. Anchoring is also a good option in spending your day at this beach, as its depth ranges from just 5 metres at a far distance of 200 yards, to around 2 metres at one hundred yards from the shore.

Access to this beach is simple, along its straight-forward route via tarred roads with suitable sign-posting. Parking is free in its large parking lot and camper vans are also allowed to park. Alternatively, it may be reached by bus.

Surrounding the beach, along the top of low cliffs, one enjoys various houses with gardens, and several hotel complexes, as this is a very frequented area for tourists and especially for locals from this region of the island. To round off the day, one may enjoy a refreshing drink or tasty dish in the restaurant set right by the sand.

Without a doubt, a great choice for spending a summer’s day.
