Cala Mendia

Cala Mendia lies 20 kilometres from Cales de Mallorca and is noted for its fine white sand with a length of around 110 metres and width of 60m. Surrounding and framing the beach we find rocks and vegetation, complementing the calm and crystal-clear waters and allowing visitors a refreshing dive straight in.

This beach is visited by a large quantity of people every season due to considerable hotel and restaurant presence in the surroudings and features sercices such as showers, lavatories, free parking, restaurants, lifeguard service and handrailing for the impaired. Among the authorised activities here, fishing allows tourists and locals to plan a full-day’s outing.

In order to Access this small beach one need only take the single-lane road from Cales de Mallorca to Porto Cristo and follow its respective road signage. Parking is free of charge but in high season it is generally difficult to find an free parking space. You may also park on the streets of the quiet residential community of Cala Mendia.

Around the beach itself we find several buildings including hotels, residences and gardens, all of which increase the amount of visitors during the summer here. It is also posible to enjoy  lunch or dinner at the restaurant near the beach and thereby round off a full beach day. Furthermore, besides this cove, you may wish to walk as far as Cala Anguila, along a coastal path or visit the caves of Coves del Drach or dels Hams, and dare to hike up to the Summit of Puig de Sa Bandera, a considerable mountain for this side of the island, at 333 metres.

A real must during your visit to the island!
