S’Estany d’en Mas, nowadays known as Cala Romàntica, is situated at a few kilometers from Calas de Mallorca.
This beautiful cave with rare vegetation has one of the widest white sandy areas in this part, the origin is the large Torrent des Morts, surrounded by medium-high cliffs of clear limestone. On the left part of the beach there is a promenade that allows the residents of the village to reach this beach.
This rectangular sea inlet has excellent conditions for anchoring boats although it is not sheltered from the winds blowing from the east and southeast. The depth ranges from six metres at 200 metres from the coast to 15 metres in the entrance, on a sandy ground with seaweed, and three metres at 150 metres from the beach.
The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and takes only 15 minutes. The private car can be left on a free parking area next to s’Estany d’en Mas. From Cala Romàntica you can also reach Cala Varques on foot. On the right there is a trail to make this three-kilometres walk between the scrubland and makes for great sightseeing.
